Since launching One Tech World in 2020, WeAreTechWomen has welcomed over 13,000 women globally to learn, connect, and be inspired. Built on more than a decade of championing women in technology through conferences, events, and community initiatives, One Tech World has become a powerful catalyst for progress at a time when the industry cannot afford to lose female talent.
The need for change is urgent. Despite ongoing efforts, systemic barriers continue to push women out of technology roles. The Lovelace Report, produced with Oliver Wyman, revealed a £2-3.5 billion loss to the industry caused by systems that hold women back.
Women leave tech at twice the rate of men, with an estimated 100 women exiting the sector every day, costing the UK economy billions annually. With women representing just 20% of the UK tech workforce, and rapid expansion planned across AI and emerging technologies, the industry must act now.
