Women in Tech Week is back for 2026 – bigger, bolder, and more impactful.

Following the success of Women in Tech Week in 2024 and 2025 – which has delivered over 80 events across 20 cities and supported by more than 100 organisations, WeAreTechWomen is proud to bring this nationwide initiative back for its third year. Timed once again to coincide with Ada Lovelace Day, the week-long celebration champions the advancement of women in technology and puts their progression firmly back on the national agenda.

Despite progress, systemic challenges remain. Our Lovelace Report with Oliver Wyman revealed that women are exiting the tech industry at twice the rate of men, contributing to a costly talent drain for the UK economy. With only 21% of the tech workforce made up of women, and as the government pushes to scale the AI and digital workforce, now is not the time to lose momentum.

Women in Tech Week 2026 will once again offer a dynamic programme of in-person, virtual and hybrid events – ranging from keynotes and panels to fireside chats and interactive workshops. Hosted by leading sponsors and partners, these sessions provide valuable opportunities to learn, connect, and grow. Whether you’re advancing your career, pivoting into tech, or looking to empower your workforce, this week is designed to support you.

The week will feature diverse and inspirational speakers sharing industry trends, and practical advice for career development, while providing a powerful platform for organisations to demonstrate their commitment to inclusion and talent development within the tech sector.

Join us as we continue to celebrate, support, and accelerate the careers of women in technology – because progress happens when we come together.

What is Women in Tech Week?

WeAreTechWomen is proud to present the third annual UK Women in Tech Week, taking place from October 12th to 16th. Once again, the week aligns with Ada Lovelace Day, which falls on the second Tuesday of October. This nationwide initiative brings together a vibrant line-up of FREE virtual and in-person events celebrating the impact of women across the tech industry.

In partnership with leading organisations and Women in Tech networks, the week will offer inspiring panels, practical workshops, and meaningful networking opportunities. Through our website, attendees can easily book their spots for these events.

Additionally, we’ll be leveraging various social media platforms, including LinkedInInstagram and YouTube, to livestream events and engage with a wider audience. We’re collaborating with corporate partners across the UK who will open their doors to host local events, offering keynotes, interviews, panels, practical workshops and networking opportunities for women in their area.

The week is divided into themed focus days across the five days of Women in Tech Week 2026. To explore each day’s theme, click here.

Why Women in Tech Week?

Despite growing awareness, the sector still faces systemic challenges. Our recently released Lovelace Report with partners Oliver Wyman has highlighted a £2-3.5 billion loss to the tech industry due to broken systems that hinder the progression of women in the sector. The report also states that women are leaving the industry at twice the rate of men, equating to 100 women exiting every day! This talent drain is not only a loss of potential but is actively costing the UK economy billions of pounds each year.

With just 20% of the UK’s tech workforce made up of women, and with government commitments to scale the AI workforce, this is not the time to slow down. It’s time to step up.

Dr Vanessa Vallely OBE, Founder & CEO at WeAreTechWomen said:

“UK Tech Week is a powerful moment in the calendar, not just to celebrate innovation, but to showcase the UK as a beacon for technology on the world stage. Weeks like this shine a light on the strength of our ecosystem, the talent, creativity and collaboration that exists across industry, startups, academia and community. At WeAreTechWomen, we exist to ensure women are not just part of that conversation, but leading it, shaping it and influencing what comes next. When the tech community comes together with intention and inclusion at its heart, the impact goes far beyond a single week, it helps define the future of UK tech.”
